Wow - what a show tonight in Tarrytown
Great old theater with great acoustics. The band was superb - the best he's played with. Same guys as last tour but they were even more together and the acoustics were far better than the Hudson River boat where I saw them last tour.
The Tarrytown, NY crowd was really into it. Many standing ovations. John was really lively and the character that he usually is. Can't wait til Wednesday at the Fillmore! Here's
the 20 song set - from memory
Drive South (great start!)
On With You
Ethylene
Crossing Muddy Waters
Tiki Bar (great bass solo)
The Open Road
Haulin
Go Down Swingin
Freight Train (excellent!!!!)
Perfectly Good Guitar
Cry Love
Alone In the Dark (the rare nugget of the evening)
Slow Turning
Tennessee Plates
Real Fine Love (one of the best of the night)
Paper Thin
Feels Like Rain
Memphis In The Meantime
Riding With The King (what a jam session)

| It was great! I feel a bit bad that we harassed him about not playing any "gruff exterior" stuff when he was signing stuff at the end. Hot show...can't wait til Wednesday night in NYC! Sorry to bug you John...that show was so enjoyable. |
